The Hidden Identity performance was stimulated to illustrate grief and healing. I performed a Fluxus-style performance to demonstrate the secrets buried behind inhibitions, masks, and feelings of overwhelming internal grief. I was wrapped in a black cloth and tied with a rope and remained on the floor during the exhibition for three hours with only a slit to breath in. During the performance, I examined the concept of hidden identities, and why an individual endures and suffers torment instead of admitting the secrets of identity. I wanted the audience to imagine what can happen when hidden identities emerge and manifest -- which often happens during mystery practices, rituals, and performances.
