GRIEF AND HEALING
The Hidden Identity performance was stimulated to illustrate grief and healing. It was a Fluxus-style performance to demonstrate the secrets buried behind inhibitions, masks, and feelings of overwhelming grief. I was wrapped in a black cloth and tied with a rope.
I remained on the floor during the exhibition for three hours with only a slit to breathe through. During the performance, I examined the concept of hidden identities and why individuals endure torment instead of admitting identity secrets.
I wanted the audience to imagine what can happen when hidden identities emerge and manifest.
